Re: England NZ tour squad
Yea, I think that is a real good squad and the selectors were right to leave Prior out. Interesting choice with two highly rated keepers.
I could also see Ian Bell moving down the order in the ODIs for some reason.

Belly Doesn't cope well down the order look at last season for example against sri lanka he played really well up the order if the selectors put him lower down they'll be making a big mistake

Re: England NZ tour squad
Yea I agree with you on that but Jonathan Agnew from BBC sport says this "Where Strauss fits in will be interesting. Ian Bell has been successful at number three but he will probably have to move down the order."

Re: England NZ tour squad
Well i think they got it abit right and abit wrong yes Prior hasnt done to good but to drop him from the squad all together is abit rash and i dont think James Tredwell should be included in the side Chris Scholfield would have been a better inclusion in the squad.

He wasnt awful with the gloves he did drop a few but the more he plays the more he'll improve. We had four keepers last year ( including the ashes 06/07) Jones, Read, Prior and Mustard and thats pathetic. We need to stick with one keeper instead of changing every series. In my opinion we should have stuck with Read but it dosnt seems like the selectors have dismissed him already.

Yea, thats why he is dropped. He dropped far too many catches.

England
Glad Strauss is back in the team, I felt he was missed in Sri Lanka, the balance didn't seem quite right. As for Prior, I do think he has been treated somewhat harshly not to be included at all, his batting merits a more than handy number seven for the Test side but there do seem to be better glovesmen out there so giving them a chance may be worth a go. I still think Chris Read is the best behind the stumps in the country, if only he could bat like Prior England would have no worries!

Ye i would have Read aswell, but im also a fan of Geraint Jones he has so much potential with Gloves and the Bat. But if we are going to win Test matched i would definitly have Read.

Ye true but with a home series against NZ coming up that should be a confidence booster for the big one against South Africa.

excactly, hats all jones ever had....potentail....the only convincing innings i ever saw him make, when his team rly needed him, was whem he scored 70-odd at trent bridge, and he stuck with freddie so he could score his century

He also made many other vital nocks in that series and took nearly all his chances yes he shelled a few but so did Gilly.

Re: England NZ tour squad
can england's bowling attack take 20 wickets?
do you think we should play 6 batsmen (including keeper)
and 5 bowlers
or 7 batsmen and 4 bowlers
if freddie stayed fir we would in effect be able to play 8 and 5

Re: England NZ tour squad
Player for player i think England have the upper hand but New Zealand can work well as a unit, like Sri Lanka, which would cause England problems. I doubt it will be easy but if England play to their capabilities, i can only see an English victory here.
